Water/Wastewater Engineering Specialist
Locations: New York, NY or White Plains, NY
STV is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Specialist to join our Water/Wastewater division in either our New York City or White Plains, NY offices.
STV specializes in the planning, organization, and development of engineering solutions for the planning, design, construction, and operation of water and wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities
- Perform engineering tasks related to the planning and design of water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, and storage systems.
- Develop contract documents, including engineering plans and technical specifications.
- Perform hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
- Develop system curves for pump sizing and selection.
- Provide engineering and design support for water and wastewater treatment processes and equipment.
- Assist with the preparation of construction cost estimates.
- Participate in site visits during the design phase to document existing conditions and during construction to observe installation.
- Review contractor shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents.
- Support project teams with coordination and technical input.
- Develop knowledge in project management, client engagement, and business development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with water and wastewater systems.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
- Participation in professional organizations or technical committees.
Compensation Range:
$86,464.77 – $98,816.88
