License/Certification Requirements: Valid MN Driver’s License, current insurance or be insurable. Adult, Child and Baby First Aid/CPR certification
Summary: Responsible for the facilitating and coordination of training and professional development for program. Responsible for coordinating the higher education programming for teachers and childcare providers. Coordinate Megwayak programming with team support. Support the community and family engagement programming.
Education Requirements and Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
AA in Human Services or Early Childhood preferred.
Will consider a related field with at least three years of experience in Early Childhood. Must be willing to complete the Early Childhood or Human Services AA degree.

Working computer application skills with experience in Microsoft Windows and Intemet access.
Must be able to pass the Leech Lake Licensing Standards.
Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
Ability to travel in and out of the state on a regular basis as required by funding agencies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Administration
Create space for language revitalization by speaking and learning Ojibwe.
Maintain positive work atmosphere by modeling and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with children, families, co-workers and community members.
Be knowledgeable of and comply with LLBO policies, the Leech Lake Early Childhood, Child Care Services Policies and Procedures.
Works closely with management staff to ensure effective delivery of services.
Participate on various committees, boards or community groups as appropriate.
Promote and advocate for early childhood care and education.
Be knowledgeable of and work towards program plan, vision and mission.
Works closely with management staff to ensure effective delivery of services.
Work with management to review or develop policies and operating procedures based on regulations and guidelines on an annual basis or as needed. Periodically review to ensure applicability to the program.
Complete all required daily, monthly and annual paperwork and reports.
Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings as required.
Assist the program to complete special projects and other duties as assigned,
Assist and coordinate program internal audit according to rules and regulations.

Actively attend programming to deepen cultural perspective and understanding, some programming may take place outside of regular hours.
Training and Professional Development
Facilitate and conduct the Miziwegin Training Committee.
Facilitate the higher education programming and provide technical assistance to staff and childcare providers. Facilitate the development & scheduling of the annual training plan according to contract, licensing requirements and program needs.
Facilitate the trainer and training development for the LLECD service area and programs ensuring training meets requirements.
Coordinate and facilitate training events for Leech Lake Child Care Services program Implement training initiatives.
Conduct an annual survey and compile training needs report.
Attend training committees and develop partnerships with other agencies to coordinate training opportunities.
Identify new partners, presenters, community members for training.
Keep records of all training events/initiatives.
Maintain a list of trainers and training resources according to area of expertise. Develop and implement staff and parent trainings that includes community.
Community Engagement
Develop and support the Miziwegin Language and Culture programming for staff, families and the community Facilitate the Megwayaak Committee meetings, support the collaboration and usage of the Megwayaak space between ECD.
Provide outreach to local schools and youth programs of the intern youth program.
Collect required forms and track applicant information and make selections of youth for the program with the team Work with managers who will provide oversight of youth in the programs.
Provide communication and technical assistance on status, updates and policy changes.
Submit invoices payments for youth and enter into tracking sheet to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
Physical exam upon initial hire and every 2 years thereafter and Mantoux (TB) upon hire and every 5 years thereafter.
Pre-employment and random drug testing is mandatory for all Leech Lake Early Childhood positions.
