Snowflair Co-Founder Talks Shop at Cal State East Bay

Tech company Snowflair’s leader is on a mission to transform the job application experience and help job seekers develop long-term skills.  Lewis Guo, Co-Founder of the platform shared his best practices when it comes to interviewing with Cal State East Bay students last month in a casual, fire chat-style setting hosted by the Career Empowerment Center.

Lewis discussed with students topics as well around resume building, emphasizing the importance of storytelling when sharing experiences.  He also touched on how to use career gaps to your advantage on resumes; emphasizing how to show skill development in a thoughtful, intentional way.

Student Michael Denegal was impressed by the event and the tips that were shared.

“I think the most important point is how important communication is and how it’s a great thing to express that to employers. It’s like the key to success.”

Guo provided students with recommendations such as recording yourself, using hand gestures within the power sphere, and practicing before the interview your introduction.

Guo explained “my main goal is to help students learn how to talk about themselves rather than having employers just read resumes to get to know the person applying.”

Currently, Snowflair is working on building an AI coach for interviewing assistance. The goal of this would be to enhance candidates’ job preparation and diversify their resources.

Guo’s career has been centered around HR and recruiting, with a focus on Product, Go-To-Market, and engineering hiring. He majored in Spanish during college and started his career as a Sales Rep before transitioning into HR and recruiting. His current passion is helping job seekers find opportunities and building the best video hiring platform, Snowflair.
